Ernest Hemingway

     Hemingway was born on July 21, 1899 in Oak Park, Illinois. After high school he was a reporter for the Kansas City Star. He then moved to the Italian front to become an ambulance driver during WWII. Thus where he received all of his inspiration for A Farewell to Arms.
